Iris Yaron, M.D.
Dr. Yaron graduated with a B.A. degree in Biochemistry from New York University in New York City. She attended medical school and received her medical degree from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. This was followed by an internship at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. She then did an extensive basic science research fellowship at Columbia University, focusing on transplant immunology and the mechanism of rejection. She, like many others, believes that spinal cord injuries, disc degeneration, and arthritis are treatable at the molecular level. Dr. Yaron resumed her clinical training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, in orthopedic surgery, graduating in 2001. She then became a Spine Surgery Fellow at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.
Her interests include a broad range of spinal disorders in adults as well as children, including spinal deformity, arthritis, trauma, tumors, instability, and degenerative conditions. She is a member of the North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. She currently serves as a co-investigator on two FDA approved IDE clinical trials exploring new spine technologies.
