Dr. Thomas Mick is a board certified internist with a subspecialty certification of sports medicine. In addition to providing non-surgical musculoskeletal care to patients of all ages, he specializes in sports health and all medical conditions related to sports participation. He provides pre-participation physical exams, exercise and rehabilitation prescriptions and has an interest in nutritional and sports supplements.

Dr. Mick is extremely interested injuries which occur in contact sports. He has competed internationally in rugby and currently serves as assistant coach for the Rugby team of the New York Athletic Club. He is also involved in strength and conditioning development of elite rugby players for the USA national Rugby team. He is an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Mick graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree. While at Notre Dame he competed at the varsity level in Track and Field winning two letters and held the school record in hammer throw for 20 years. He later competed for the USA internationally and at the US Olympic Trials.

He received his MD degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. An internship in emergency medicine and a residency in internal medicine were then completed at Rush Presbyterian St Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. He then completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

He also completed a Master’s of Science in Clinical Research at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and has published articles on various topics in sports medicine.
